How We Learn

IN OUR CLASSROOM...

  • we make mistakes.
  • we keep trying.
  • we ask helpful questions.
  • we help others.
  • we take turns.
  • we share new ideas.
  • we respect others' thoughts and opinions.
  • we LOVE to LEARN!

I believe students learn best when they are given the freedom to explore content on their own terms. Meaningful connections with the material are made when each student's individual learning style is stimulated through student-led inquiry and hands-on activities. My student-centered teaching style will incorporate technology in several ways. Intervention students will have the opportunity to explore science standards through online labs and simulations. In math, game-based websites like prodigy.com will challenge students and provide instant feedback. E-readers will assist students with specific visual or auditory needs to access literature with greater ease. Technology will play a very important role in our classroom, and I am looking forward to watching my students learn to LOVE learning!
